Logan, the son of Scottish immigrants, was originally granted 1,000 acres in 1794 by the Governor of Virginia for his time served in the Revolutionary War. Logan travelled to Kentucky with a group of settlers following Daniel Boone and eventually advocated for Kentucky's statehood.
